We got the same davit on the boat we got last year. We got it without a dinghy, and the davit system has a pin that goes though one of the holes (¼"?) that locks the turntable in place. Is the pin needed when the dinghy is loaded and strapped down to the platform?

Nope. As a matter of fact, they tell you not to put the anti-rotation pin in when the dinghy is on it.
 
@SmilingMonkey did you end up selling your Hurley? Also do you have any pictures with it on. Did you install yourself? Thanks
 
@xhlar8cf it’s still available.

I did do the install myself. Took a little less than 2 hours. Probably go faster if you do it while the boat is out of the water.

I don’t have any pictures of it, but it basically goes right against the back edge of the platform just offset from center.
 
Thanks @SmilingMonkey, did you have any problems with the swim platform lip and the Hurley resting on it? Last question, did the instructions from Hurley provide details of what would be needed to install etc..?
 
No problem with the swim platform lip. The instructions are pretty good and I'd be happy to spend a few minutes on their site coming up with a list of what's needed for whoever buys the davit ;)
