Hurley Davit on 36 sedan bridge

It's still wide open for me. I like the idea of having a relatively clean swim platform when they're not in use, and I want as much of the dinghy as possible to hang off the back. I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on this one. Only problem is I'll have to add under-dinghy lights because I enjoy looking at stuff in the water soooo much.

SB....There is no perfect system (or boat)....With that said, when you factor in the cost of Hurley vs a after market motorized one, it has worked very well......The height is a bit of an issue only in the fact of bringing the tender up.....Going down is simple.....I can load and unload myself, but it does take some man power.......I knew this and went with a two stroke vs the 4 stroke to save o weight.....I have a walker bay soft bottom and 8 hp yamaha.......this sytem has worked good fo WHAT I DO......I would recommend the product.....As others have said...Todd and Tanya were great to work with.....In fact, I had a scratch on the powder coat and they sent a new piece right out.........I am actually having mine powder coated again this year and doing it in black.....If you have any questions, e-mail me and I can send you some pictures........It is also very nice to have a clean bottom and no growth on the bottom......

John,

I'm installing my Nautley davit system next weekend on my 2008 340. I'll take some pictures and and tell you how it works. The dinghy is 9'6" with a 6HP four stroke motor.

Perfect! Any Weaver davit pictures, anyone?

Is awesome. I have been in some serious weather and it is a stable platform. Tie downs are built into the arms for the bow and stern. It is more money than the Hurley - I had the Hurley on my 320. I really like the Nautley product! I use a block and tackle from the bridge railing after tying the bow of the dink up it helps me lift the transom of the dink onto the platform. It is a nice system - but pricey.

The arms are in two pieces vs one which makes removing on the hook/in the marina/etc. and storing in the bilge easy also.

I'm installing a Hurley system on my 360 today. Any advice on positioning of the davit? Hurley recommends offsetting to provide better support for the stern and motor, but...

Can you post some pictures of your installation on the 360? I am planning on buying a davit & dinghy in June, and am planning to use the Hurley system with a Zodiac 310 RIB and Honda 9.9 motor.

Several months ago I purchased the xl roll on from a member minus the hardware which I purchase though Nautley. The hardware was kind of pricey but the total amount was well worth it. I just got the hardware in today and will mounting the system this weekend.......weather permitting.

I have the same dink, what size motor do you have on it?

Hi Ted, please post some pics and let us know how you make out - I have the same boat and am thinking of doing the same.

Hey Russ

I have twin 7.4L (340) and I"ll take pictures during the project. I have to figure out how to get the bottom of the swim platform without taking a splash or dry docking her. At least the waters in Louisiana is getting warmer.

Hi Guys,

I'm a brand new member. I just purchased a 2003 Four Sixty Sundancer, my first stinkpot since the mid 80s. I'll take delivery after the 4th, I'm having the bottom painted, some corrosion repaired, new refrigerator, etc. I'll be buying a new 10' RIB dinghy (still trying to decide PVC vs. Hypalon) with probably a Tohatsu 15HP (weight considerations). I've looked long and hard at Hurley, Nautley and St. Croix davits and I'm still not sure. Any suggestions from you experienced boaters on RIB, motor and davits. Thanks

How did you/ do you like the Nautley system?

It works well for me. The new Sea Rays have the integrated swim platforms which are high above the water. Pulling the dinghy up onto the swim platform does take some manpower, total weight of the dinghy and motor is critical if it's only you retrieving.

That's one of my concerns, even though it's 2 of us, shouldn't be a big problem. Did you install the Hurley yourself? What did you end up with for dinghy/motor? I'm thinking 10 ft wood floor bottom PVC, with 9.9 merc outboard. I want something that will do more than just put,put around.

It shouldn't be a problem with two people. It's easy to install yourself which is what I did. I now have a 9 ft RIB with a 5 hp Tohatsu motor, I did have a 9.5 ft soft bottom with a 9.8 hp Tohatsu. The 9.8 hp was too heavy since I retrieve the dinghy myself I prefer the 55 lb motor. The dinghy stern is the heavy end with the motor, when retrieving you need to either tie the bow down or have some hold the bow otherwise it could flip off the swim platform. You will figure out the best way but with two people it won't be an issue.
