has anyone installed and/or gone through a season with the hurley davit system? Hard vs inflatable bottom? do they still offer a $100.00 discount to searay owners? Need to make descision this weekend.

Hey wetpaint....I am considering these right now and thinking of purchasing in the next few days. I have looked at countless systems, and this seems to be the best and most economical solution for us. We only take our dinghy with us maybe on half of our trips, so we were looking for something that is not too "ugly" when we don't have the dinghy with us. Keep me posted if you have any more info, or have any questions.

I have not seen the Nautley? Is there a web site or place to check them out?

Hey wet paint.. Todd Hurely is on this site, maybe you can ask him. We're looking into this also, but we only have one trip sceduled this year that needs a dinghy and we don't even have one. I don't know, maybe I should buy a big blowup raftboat... West Marine sells them, we're going to the North Channel this year, and that's the only trip we'll need a dinghy, I think it's too much money for only one trip, but one can never tell...

Boltman:

When are you going to the N. Channel? Beautiful place! We try and get there every year but it's not going to happen this year. You will need a dinghy up there and something with a motor. Lots to explore.

Now to the Nautley. I will let you guys make your own decision because you know what I'm going to say. However, I had a customer that shared a few questions with Nautley and this is what they sent him:

"The DinghyRamp is constructed of marine grade King Starboard. Yes, this material does float as the picture illustrates. Over 120 degrees there is a risk of permanent distortion, however even in direct sunlight the white material goes not get hot enough. Especially when the tender provides shade and is near the cool water. When not in use the DinghyRamp? should be stored in a cool place."

This design is a spin off of our system (Hurley Davits) and we had thought of this idea a long time ago and decided that it's not worth the effort. Even their mounts are made of plastic and won't hold up the weight/shock loads needed.

I hate Pirates!

WETPAINT:

The $100 member discount is long over. However, I can offer forum members a 10% discount till the end of the month. If you order off our web site, please provide your CSR member username in the promo box for clarification.

After having the Hurley Davits for one season, I will give them two thumbs up and feel this was the correct purchase for my boat.

Wetpaint, you need to measure the width of your swim platform before deciding if this horizontal mounting method and Hurley Davits will work. Todd makes several different lengths of mounting bracket, depending upon what you need. I went with the 10” mount, which made the dinghy fit nicely. If your swim platform is less than 24”, you may have difficulty with this system.

If todd is here and listening...or anyone else here knows if this will work, I also have the 36 Sedan Bridge and a Mercury 270 Airdeck (length is 8'9" and beam is 5'). What mounts and gear do I need to make this happen? Also, is the bracket system easily removable for when we are not travelling with our dinghy?

I can definitely recommend Hurley Davits. I put them on my 340DA last year for my Bahamas cruise. It worked as advertised, although the model on the website, must be feakishly strong. Todd was great to work with. Just call him up and give him the measurements of your swim plat and he will get you what you need.

I believe the depth of the platform is 26", although I need to get down to the boat in the next day or two to make sure. Thanks!!!

Todd....I will call tomorrow...Maybe B-Rock will be calling in too! The depth of the swim platform is 27 1/2 dead center and tapers to 26".....I measured on Friday......Lets use 26" as the depth for the size. I am also buying a new tender....I was going to go hard bottom with a 15 hp, but I think I will go with a soft and 9.9 for ease of launching.....The height off the water is 2-3 inches higher than most platforms too.....Todd...If B-Rock and I order tomorrow will you give us 100 off and we will promise to say nice things! Thanks for everyones help in this thread and all others...

Wetpaint,
PM me if you are interested in a used soft bottom 9.9 setup. I used it for only two months last year in the Bahamas. All was purchased new. West Marine Dinghy, Yamaha 2-stroke 9.9.

Yes, I am ready to order as well. Just waiting on the final word on what we need (and the extra special club sea ray discount would be good too!).
I think these will be a good fit for what we need on the 36 Sedan Bridges for Wetpaint and myself!

Just placed my order for the Hurley Davit System this morning. Excellent customer service from every one over there. We are anxiously awaiting getting this system installed on our boat.

Good info on the Hurley system, I like it.
Nice looking boats guys. I have a dealer trying to unload a never sold 2007 36 Sedan Bridge to me, or anyone that is interested. It has the Cummins Diesel's and the full Raymarine electronic's . His price still seems high to me. Any input, (with the little information I have provided) on what a good price for this boat would be? I'm exploring the possibilities of such a purchase, and any input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What year 340? If 2003, new or older version?

IIRC, Brimanst's 340 was an 01.

Sounds like we're in the same boat , trying to figure out which davits to go with on our newer 340's. What have you looked into so far and what do you like/not like?

Wetpaint and B-rock, hows the Hurley work with the height of the 36's platform off the water? I believe the 36DB platform is alot like the 340's size and height wise. Any pics with the dink on the back?
