Humidity Control

Does anyone use the "Humidity" setting on the air when you are not on board? Or do you just set the AC at about 78 and let it run whenever? This is what I did last summer and it kept the cabin in great shape but I have been trying the HU setting recently and it might work just as well. We have the Crusair factory installed system.

Either solution works. The dehumidifier mode is also adjustable to vary the compressor run time if the factory settings are ineffective.

I've used the Humidity and it worked great. Especially if your marina frowns on A/C use when not on the boat. It cycles enough to keep the boat cool and dry.

I use the humidity control, "HU" and it appears to use either heat or air conditioning. I press heat, cool, and fan together to activate it and ano other button to cancel the program. I leave it in that mode during the week when I am away.

HU mode here and it works great because it uses less electricity as it only runs on a 12 hour cycle and knows to kick-up air speed on the blower before engaging the compressor.

I use the humidity cycle. It works great, but as suggested above, I reduced the number of hours between runs and increased the run time Humidity cycle doesn't run the blower 24x7. I don't know if the motor bearing are designed for that much running.

Best regards,
Frank

I leave our humidity setting n when we are not on the boat...makes a big difference IMHO. It cycles on every 4 hours if I recall.

We use HU year round when not on the boat. I programmed the hot weather cycle for our Florida climate. HU setting reduces wear and tear on the unit and water pump, and probably saves electricity.
