Hulu + Live TV

I've had hulu for just about a year. I switched from Xfinity. Once I got use to the way you search for the channel vs typing in the channel number it's been much better. especially for the price.

Frontier just put underground fiber optic cables all through our neighborhood. They offer what used to be FIOS service. We are thinking about trying it. Has anyone tried that? Good service? Good or bad cost? Lots of choices or limited?

I had at&t U-verse in Florida. It was fiber optics right to the box. It was good for that time. Now my Verizon 5g home internet pretty much blows the old at&t away. But that was over 4 years ago now.

In talking to a worker on the fiber optics crew doing the underground, he said they bring fiber optics to a box on the side of the house and then it switches over to coax from there to each TV. I just wonder if they really soak a guy to run the line to the house?

At our home, our cable provider is/was Comcast. I HATE Comcast. Heard that Verizon was putting Fios in the area, but it never materialized. A small, regional tele-com called Shentel started putting in fiber optic. I jumped at the chance. Call me an "early adopter", just to get rid of Comcast. We'll leave canceling Comcast for anther thread.

The system is called "Glo Fiber" and it is amazing. I now have 1.2 GB speeds. Yes, 1,200 MB. And that is both down and up. At any given time, I have maybe 50 devices on my home network. Thats from TVs (YouTube TV), eight pair of Sonos speakers, Alexa, smart switches and plugs, laptops, desktops, cell phones, and iPads. It never misses a beat.

For all of this, we pay $82/month for the internet connectivity. Add $73/month for YouTube TV and a smattering of other streaming services. @Halfhitch , not your direct service, but a testimony of a smaller fiber optic service.

Do you know how many words I had to delete for that quote ?

I was shocked at $73….. I looked at mine and it was the same….. I love you tube but more than $2 a day is a bit rediculous

I bought a T Mobile hot spot or what ever you guys call it…..for the boat…. I pay $50/month and cancel it in the winter….I took it to work the apartment and home it works amazing. I pay $321/month for a damn phone with AT&T….. I’m switching to T-mobile $25/line everything included
