does 20 hrs labor sound right to cut open floor remove foam lay fiberglass refoam and refiberglass cut floor no finish of rug or flooring regel outside hull picture of area at keel attached ? IMG_0083.jpg

Can't see the pic, and some information as to what the purpose of the repair is would be helpful...

Water saturated foam? Where did the water come from? Details?

no water damage it was blocked wrong befor i bought we guess and a block must of gone thru the keel i found it after soda blasting the fiberglass guy said when he hit the bottom with a hammer there is a 4 inch spot that sounds like its delamanating because the repair was done from the outside only. i can attach another photo thanks for the reply

Hi, I have the same problem with my boat. Someone did a patch on the keel about where a block might lie.I had a few fiberglass shops look at it .How long would a patch(probably marinetex) last on a damaged keel?I myself dont trust it from what I have read here.
If it ever stops snowing in NJ I have a surveyor going to look at the repairs . As soon as he gets a look i will post what his findings and recomendations are .

well I had a surveyor look at the hull he said the repairs or not trustworthy and should be redone . He also thinks a days work for both repairs . My yard wanted to charge 36 hours total labor. I thought I could trust there estimate but after posting it and then the reply's I received I decided to get a second opinion and glad I did . All I can say is that if your not sure or comfortable with an estimate bring in a outside source like a certified surveyor from SAMS . I spoke with 2 guys and both where extremely helpfull and honest . So my point is even when you feel comfortable with your mechanic/yard don't let your guard down.If it don't feel or sit right it, it's probably not!!!
