Larry is your boat a Tn. (SERT) or a Florida boat (SERP)? Rumrunner and I both have Florida boats. I'm betting your hull # starts with SERT. I spoke with Nova Kool today. They told me there was 2" of insulation to work with. He didn't act like it was a big deal to modify the back. I just need to knotch out a place in the rear bottom about 2 1/2" toward the front and about 1/2" deep into the foam and refrabricate it some way. Possibly pop rivet some metal back in. Any heat and air guys got ideas?
This was just sent to me from Sea Ray in Knoxville:
The area with the step up is a floor panel that is bonded directly to the hull on the outboard side where the channel is formed, so the clearance to the main hull fiberglass is small. There will be foam under the floor panel. This section could be modified, but you will need to use caution not to cut to deep.
Again, I'm not going to attempt to alter the stringer but I thought some of you guys may need this info some day. The people at Sea Ray in Knoxville, Tn. are the very best at helping boat owners and dealers with problems. Yet another reason why they are so successful. Larry don't worry about it one bit. You were only trying to help. I'll work this out.
