On the back of Sea Ray's it commonly has the model and a number. For example 560DB510 or 560DB511. Does this mean these are the 510th and 511th 560DB Sea Ray made?

I have always wondered about this too. My HIN ends in B585 and I have found this number written on the back of many of the piece parts on the boat. I hope someone can answer this question.

Mike,

What you are describing is the second? line in the label on the aft quarter below the serial number. The 560DB is of course your boat but the three digits following are the sequential production number,of that model, starting each year with the number 501.

As an aside, I thought it interesting that, when SR replaced my hull, the new hull had the same HIN as the original. I thought I would have to obtain a letter from SR proving that the original hull had been destroyed before the state of Iowa would issue me a replacement registration sticker. Otherwise, they'd be registering two boats w/ the same HIN. When I went to the county building to get the sticker, I just told them that "the part of my boat that had the stickers on it had to be replaced" and I got the replacement stickers w/out any further inquiry.
