Start a new house and go out and buy a new Chevrolet. We started a new house back in August before the big crash,(I am a custom home builder)but today my decision might be different, but the construction loan is done. So Wend. the wifes 140,000 mile liberty shows it last breath on the tranny, so we head out to out local Greenville, SC Chevy dealer to buy a new Malibu. We leave that same evening in a LTZ with nothing down and a great interest rate. There sales are just a few down from this time last year. Banks are loaning money and they are selling cars. This Malibu is just what we wanted and it is awsome. What are these politicians taking about when they say GM isn't producing cars we want to buy? We love this car!!! For the price, there isnt a foriegn car that can compete!! Maybe the big three should bring some of their cars to capital hill and let these axxes drive these things. We are already getting better gas mileage than any other car we have owned.

It just puzzles me what the media does to this country!!

Here is what we got for $8 grand under sticker.

Sorry about that, I was trying to move the post to another area, but I will let Wesley move it for me. It has a 3.5L v6 and gets anywhere from 17 to 30. It has a auto 6 speed with paddle shifting, all the GM goodies for the interior.

Here is a pick of the interior.

Very nice - good luck with it - what is the std warranty these days?

I will probably get slammed here I am sure but her it goes.

I have an idea if Obama plans to give us stimulus cash as he has proposed. I have read numerous speculations of he amount he proposes to shell out. Why not make certain stipulations on how the money is to be used. Such as you only get the money if it is used for such use as a down payment on a new car. This may entice people into buying new cars and stimulate the The Big Three at the same time. I am a business idiot so I am full prepared to take a beating here but it makes some since to me. Other ideas could include boats, RVs, motorcycles, etc. Ultimately this also would lead to increased sales and personal property tax. So the local government wins as well. Just a thought?

The tree huggers would like you to use that money to put up a windmill so it can fling frozen ice at your chevy.

Congrats on the new car!!! looks nice.

The interior looks great. Nice car and price. A friend of mine has one and tells me he gets over thirty mpg on the hight way at seventy with the cruise on.

Hey Kurt, if you think its a good idea for someone else to tell you how to spend your money, how about letting me tell you how to spend your money. I think you should spend all your stimulus money on chiropractic care at Flynn Clinic, one of 3 lovely locations, please go to flynnclinic.com and make your appointment now! and I promise I will spend all ofyour fees on all the new things I want that will undoubtedly be a stimulus to my local economy.

Just kidding, but doesnt it seem a little socialist if not communist to tell the masses what they have to spend their own money on. just a thought.

Problem I have is that it would make some people go out and buy cars they really can't afford. They will have the down payment but might not really be able to afford the payments on a depreciating item.

I put my last rebate check toward some concrete work. They employed 5 people. I think with all the supllies they bought for the job and the salary paid for my job did a lot of help the economy.

Had a new Malibu as an Avis rental last month on business - great car!

I just bought a "new to me" boat to help Mr Obama's economy - can't wait to see my "reward" for that - new boat tax?

I didn't get no stinking stimulus check :(

And yes. . .I am indeed cutting back spending - -> but that is because I have spent the last year overstimulating the economy.

And I am opposed to stimulus checks. . because they don't do bo-diddly. Buy a bunch of foreign made TV's? Or overpriced CD's and DVD's? A bunch of crack? Bah.

Of course. . I am much more opposed to bank bailouts. (WTF!)

Now if the man wants to spend a whole bunch of federal money building bridges and roads. . .then at least we get something tangible for the money while putting paychecks in the hands of lots of people who actully work for a living.

Nice car Brian. The Malibu is indeed put together nicely and I hope your wife enjoys it.

Thanks for "stimulating" the economy.

BTW..............why did you drive all the way to Greenville to buy the car?

Is not Chiropractic Voodoo? If it was not you would not be advertising. If I get a check I might as well just send you the money and never even recieve treatment. Now that would really be the best idea to boost you're economy right. At least I am thinking above just myself on the situation at hand.

Wish2Fish I agree with you, some peoples poor credit line could hurt the situation more than help it. Bottom line is you need to try to live within the means provided.

Largest dealer within an hour drive and my father had great experiences with his buys in the past. They seem to offer the best deals as well.

Agree 100%. This is why it makes me so mad that Gov. Co. is trying to tell the big three what to produce. How in the hell does a politician know what we as Americans want to drive or choose what boat we want.

buy a new Chevrolet.... Malibu.

Awful choice in my opinion. Using real-world insurance payment results, IIHS calculates that the 2005-2007 Malibu (no data on later models, but they have not been substantially redesigned since) have rating of 132 for personal injury protection payments, 155 for medical payments, and 117 for bodily injury liability payments. Based on the rating of 100 being average, 132 an 155 are considered substantially worse than average. 117 squeaks out an average rating.

That's not so great either. My wife's much larger Jaguar Vanden Plas turns mid twenties around town, 28 mpg on the highway at 80 mph and 31-32 on the highway at 70. IIHS rates the long wheelbase XJ, which the Vanden Plas is, at 51 for Personal Injury Protection Payments. That's substantially better than average They didn't rate the other two categories because there's too little data to be analyzed, which sounds good too me since that means too few payments to derive statistics.

I'd rather pay a few hundred bucks a month more than have to worry that some bozo or drunk is going to put her in a wheelchair for life, or the morgue.

Best regards,
Frank C
