So I'm reading the manual on my windless and it says to secure anchor to cleat and not windless when deployed. Do you guys use a jumper or how do you attach cleat to anchor chain? My first 100' is chain and I often anchor in 12' of water w/a tight scope. Any help would be great.

Try one of these. . EDIT : Oooops Wetpaint beat me to it.

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I was looking for. I like the snubber Waynes World posted. Do you know where to get that particular one?
Thanks again for the help.

I anchor out over night a lot, 6 weeks last summer and I use an anchor bridal. It is tied off of the two front cleats and has 2 hooks (mine has two some only one) it takes the pressure off the windlass and allows for less anchor scope.
This one is like the one Wayne posted http://www.myboatsgear.com/mbg/product.asp?prodID=1652

I made my own and am very happy with it, mine can't accidentally come undone.

I will see if I can find a picture of it in use.

Not to take anything away from Wayne's Snubber - I actually never knew of that product before this thread. I just use a regular old clevis hook with a 6' length of 1/2" line tied to it. I looked for an SS one, but wasn't successful. I bought a galvanized one at a local Mom & Pop hardware store for under $10 (I don't recall exactly... maybe $5?)
