How to Repair Gel Coat Video

once you finish dry sanding if bump is still there use a 60 grit sandpaper by hand to knock it down, if fiber glass is showing but not punctured through the hull just use "kitty hair fiberglass filler" paint "rolling is the best" let dry then lightly wet sand with 220 grit , wipe down with a tack cloth add another coat or two and your done add 3m wax buff and have fun

yes just take it to home depot or any paint store and they can add the color but make sure you have enough paint done at the same time most people lets say buy 2 gallons of paint but only use one at a time , mix both gallons together to guarantee your paint job. when i gel coated my boat i painted it ocean blue and each day after it dried it was darker after i let it sit for 3 days after final coat it was a much deeper blue. ideal conditions to paint--temp at or above 72' for at least 6-8 hours and not below 50' for more than 5 hrs. keep in mind if you are doing it outside yourself humidity, fog , morning dew or any moisture while painting or drying is not good. hope that helps

Depending on how old and weathered your boat is it is really hard to match the gelcoat. One thing I found out is black tint in white gelcoat will turn blue, in order to get the right black you have to get true black and a true white gel coat. My 77 sundancer 240 is a off white with a little yellow tint because of the sun, matching is very hard. Maybe after the Vegas sun bakes the heck out the boat it will get closer to a match. If not I will try again another day after the wax wears off.
