My buddy has a new 330. This weekend, today actually, we were both putting our BoatSafe heaters in the engine compartment. As he was raising his engine deck, he looked at me and said, "guess I need to read the manual on to get this opened if I lose power." I replied, "Hmmm, guess I need to do the same."

Anyone know how to do this? Please share. Thanks

I believe there is a power cord that goes from a borrowed battery to the plug at the dash which will power the engine hatch for emergency opening.

Otherwise, there should be access panels in the cockpit floor which, when opened, allow you to reach in and pull the pins at the top of the engine hatch support arms to free them from the same. Then, you, and four of your best friends can open it up and use the free-swinging support arm to hold it open, at least on my boat.

Hampton is dead on- there is a 12v outlet on the dash, just to the right of the sterring column that will accept a 12v connerctor hooked up to a battery. If that fails, there is a quick release built into the floor, but you best have lots of strong buddies and plenty of beer!!

This was one of my questions when i took posession of my boat. As we tried to test the manual opening we realized that the pin release was installed backwards. You would not be able to grab the pin release. Good to look at before you need it!!!

Good advice!

Had an odd situation this weekend. Popped one of the breakers that was located in the engine compartment. Went to raise the hatch, and it was dead. Checked the main panel and noted that one line was reading 0 VAC. Fired up the gen, raised the hatch and re-set the breaker. Still trying to figure out why this worked since (I assume) the hatch actuators are DC. To compound my confusion, the breaker that popped was labeled "Blower 2".

Wanted to add that I was on shorepower when this happend

I agree these motors are DC. Maybe the battery was dead and with AC power your charger was able to supply the DC needed for the motor. Did you find out why the the one AC line was dead from shorepower?

No, never was able to figure that out. There was AC to both main breakers, the panel meter showed 0. Batteries we're fully charged (checked them once the hatch was open). Just a weird set of circumstances.
