How to: led lighting for my 2000 340da

Okay I want to change out the bulbs on my 2000 340da and switch them to led. I have read that I can just replace the bulbs is this correct? Where do you guys get the led's from? Installation advice would be much appreciated I want to do both the cockpit and the cabin.
