how to get rid of birds?

At my marina, we don't really have that many problems with birds hitting the boat consistently. We do have spots here and there (ex. if a bird rest on my Bimini), but not a permanent area. I asked the deck hands about this one day, and he said that the roof of the marina was designed so there is not a place to nest. There are not any niches or cross beams that will allow a nest to rest (all the cross beams don't have any ledges). With one exception, the corners of the roof, IE. corner slips. Those are the only slips that the boats can not stay clean.

I too have used the spider spray in the past, but have been told that it is a very hefty fine is I get caught.
