New to me boat and the shower drain does flow well and back up into the sink area unless you shut off the shower and wait for it to drain. Tried flushing the drain out and improved a little. Any idea on how to remove the drain cover so I can get into the drain piping. Its a chrome top drain about 2.5" in diameter. Attempted to pop it off but don't want to damage anything. Not sure if it pops off or screws off.
    Thanks for any guidance.

Let the pan fill with water and plunge it hard.

Definitely try this before any disassembly.

I put a garden hose on top of the drain and cupped my hands around it....flows a little better. Can now see a vortex in the drain. I believe this will be short lived as I need to get at the crap in the drain pipe.

My '98 the inner circle with all the drain holes pops off and then I cleaned out all the hair and gunk under it... Drains a lot better now. :)

Yes, old boat had the pop off lid. this one looks to be one piece and is larger diameter than the ones on my 400DA. I sure there is a secret to this!!

I would like to do the same as I have the exact one you speak of. I'm scared to pry at it.

I usually run a foaming or gel type draino down the sinks and showers annually. Just flush really well afterwards so it's not sitting in the shower sump.

I don't believe that style of strainer comes apart, like Matt I'm afraid to try for fear of breaking it.

I also had to use draino to get mine working. I tried all manner of hose/pressure/vacume/plunger. In the end the draino did the trick. The culprit was a hairball.

Snake it from the shower sump. And use wet dry to pull the yuk out

Use two small phillip screwdrivers and put them in the outer holes opposite of each other, then turn counter clock.

What year is your 410? Is this the shower drain in the forward head shower stall? Didn’t look to be threaded in to me, but would be great if it is.

Yes and the rear head too. It's about a 1/16th turn and it pops out.

You should be able to reach the underside of the shower drain from under the floor in the salon. If it's similar to my 44 Sundancer, go to shower sump in floor and follow the drain hose all the way to the underside of your shower drain. Disconnect the clamps/hose from the drain and clean it out. Reassemble. I had a backup and fixed it just like this.
