Well I did them with them in place. May try that next time, but we did the starboard with it in place in under 30 min..

the port side with muffler in place took us hours and 2 skinny people

Guess some people are just glutton for punishment. ;-)

Seriously I feel your pain and I’ve no idea how you did it with that port muffler in place. If there wasn’t a way to remove the mufflers (especially port) I would have hired someone to do them.

we started the job with the Port side, and treid to remove muffler, but got scared as the hoses where not moving.
so we removed with them in place. not that bad at this point...
swapped impeller and then put it back and could nto get bottom hose on...

took abreak and went to starboard, was out, rebuilt and back in 30 min.... I mean fast... then back to that one lower hose on the port.
