I've seen everything from annually to every 300 hours.

Of course everything I can find on the subject is from bravo drive guys, and they don't have to do much beyond remove a belt and pull the pump/pulley together. As an alpha owner, it looks like I have to take the whole gear housing apart to get at it.

Does anyone know where I can get ahold of a step-by-step impeller replacement guide for the alpha's

Thanks!

Annually to 300 hours covers all bases! If you boat in freshwater and put 300 hours on it in one year, change it. If you boat 40 hours a year, but spend a lot of time in shallow sandy areas, change it annually. I boat in freshwater lakes and I change mine ever other year. We do about 40 to 60 hours a year and it looks very good at the end of the second year. I could probably go a third, but it's not worth the risk or hassle of being out of service.
