I have a Chevy Tahoe 4x4 (w/ nice 10k lbs towing limit) but my gf has a 2002 Ford Explorer Limited V6 4x2. She is wondering if her vehicle will pull the boat we are about to purchase, I am not a fan of a vehicle that small pulling a 20' boat, but ill trust you all. My main question is how much does a 1995 200 Signature with a Magnum dual axel trailer weight? Should I just tell her to dream on or is it possible to pull it with her Explorer?

Thanks for the help

Good possibility she could pull it with out too much trouble. Trouble comes when she would try to stop. :smt018

Go to trailerboats.com and click on the tow rating link. It has all current model and late model vehicles and their tow rating. You will be surprised that your Tahoe does "Not" have 10K tow rating. And even if it did you would not tow "10,000" lbs but once and I am sure you might throw away the pants. :smt043

A 1995 200 shows to weigh 3300 lbs. I would estimate the trailer to weigh at least 1000 lbs, so throw in 500 lbs for misc items.

But to be sure, it would not cost 10-15 dollars to pull the boat down to a truck stop and use their scale to get a accurate weight.

Ok, ok, you might be right. But the ranchhand bumper sure as hell says its rated to 10k lbs. I agree though, 10k would be a hell of a ride, and not one I would likely want to repeat!!!

Thanks for the info.

I pulled my 220SD our first summer with my wife's 4x4 Tahoe. I purchased my 4x4 2500HD that fall. You just can not argue with displacement.
