Paid to winterize my new to me boat last year and do not want to do that again. Always did the winterize on my old boat so I know what to do. Just want to verify how many blue plugs and where they are at. Boat is a 2000 240da with the 5.0efi.

Assuming no quick drain kit. There should be 5:

1 each side of engine block
1 bottom of each exhaust manifold
1 at circulating water pump

OK. I have found 5. Just don't know if I have a power steering cooler or if I am looking for a fuel cooler drain. Actually I am not even sure if I have a fuel cooler

I think there is a drain plug for the Cool Fuel unit - my old boat had one, but I never winterized it so can't say for sure if/where the plug is. There is no drain plug on the powersteering cooler - they are usually mounted high on the back of the engine and will self drain, if not, just remove one of the hoses from it to drain.

Yes, there is one plug (6 total) on the aft side of the fuel cooler (port side, low). It's sometimes easier to just remove the hose at the t-stat housing and snake it down low.

Do i for sure have a fuel cooler? The only reason I ask is mine looks nothing like all the threads I see here that show you how to change the cartridge filter. Mind has a black plastic cover and I am pretty sure a spin on filter under. I had it changed when the dealership winterized the boat last year. Like I said i normally do all my own maintenance but I bought the boat so late in the season I didn't have time to figure everything out before it had to be winterized.

Bt doctor--Motor serial number is OL694467 but not positive. Don't have the title near me and the copy i have in the boat is not the greatest of quality.

Storage conditions are indoor non heated.

Yes, if you have an EFI, you do. But you're confusing the newer style cooler with what you have. Yours is better, by the way - less issues. You only have a filter where you are thinking of. The cooler is where I mentioned. Go to any online parts diagram and look, if you want to.

Interesting. I have 3 that I can find. 1 on circulating pump, 1 on heat exchanger and 1 on the engine...lower left I think. On one engine I now also have one on the updated fuel cooler.

i am FWC and have the air pump that purges the water though,,.does that make a difference?
