How do you use your canvas?

I had a nearly black dark gray on my 340. It's the color I'll choose when I redo my 400 which is currently tan. I haven't noticed the tan being substantially cooler...but your mileage may vary.

As for the original topic - after 2 years of removing my glass every time we went out I stopped. I only remove the center window 90% of the time now. If it's "really" warm and we're going for a long trip I might take it all out...but that's the exception these days.

Our previous boat (<maxum 270) had tan canvas, our 340 has black. Really don't notice a difference. Both were extremely hot with all the plastic up. Like a sauna. Black and SR Blue IMO is more attractive than the tan.

Here mine stay down from the begaining of the season till May/June, then they are removed from the boat till Fall.

Keep in mind tho, I do have a hardtop and it protects us from the summer sun.

I hate dealing with canvas!
Other than the rear drop curtain, the rest of my canvas stays up all the time to provide shade.
My glass (EZ2CY brand) portions usually stay up too.
I’ve got a smaller center section of the front above the windshield that I can unzip from the other sections and snap up out of the way independently on the arch for air flow. It’s a bit wider than the vent.
Then I’ve got two more sections for the front to the left and right of center, and a section on each side.
Those four stay up except for on the hottest days because they are so much of a PIA to take up and down, and once down I have to be careful not to let them get scratched.

My last boat had navy blue canvas (300DA). Heat buildup was never an issue in the summer with the side glass out and early/late in the season with the side glass installed the heat absorbed from the sun on the dark canvas was welcomed.
