removing the old leaky water heater but don’t see any brackets. Is this glued in? If so how do you remove without causing damage to the boat?

Pull that 4" wide cover off the front and there's a bracket underneath. The back one should be visible once you get back there.

got it - thanks, the rear single screw was a pain, but all you have to do when you unscrew the front is swing the heater to the back and reach in and unscrew. Mounted the pressure pump on the stringer and joined the in and the out together. Tampa area, we never used the hot water heater.

You should install a new one. They are cheap and when you sell the boat the buyer will take that value off the price anyway or will walk away because they will be worried you did not maintain things. And you might as well get the benefit of using it since you are paying for it one way or the other.

I agree and I am planning to, I put the mount screws back in place and wire-nut/ tapped the AC wire, so my replacement will be easy to install ( in a couple months )
