I took the one off the port engine today to replace the iac muffler. It was a real bi$&@ to remove. I ended up having to take a hammer and knock it off. Is there an easier way? Thanks, Tommy

I clean my arrestors a couple of times/yr and haven't had any problems. There is a hose clamp that must be loosened and I also take off the plastic engine cover. Then grab the arrestor and wiggle it side to side and it should come off the intake manifold. My engines have no iac mufflers. Sure they can whistle somewhere around 1500 RPM, but the iac is at the opposite end of the engine so I'm not too worried about it getting dirty or clogged. Never had any issues with the non-muffled iac (so far).

Thanks. I'm gonna do the starboard one next weekend. May use a rubber mallet to tap it off.

Ok, rubber mallet did the trick. Came off like a champ. This time I had difficulty getting it back on. After bending the flanges slightly with pliers it slipped back on.
