How do you guys up north do it?

Its easy!

When the boats put away,
The Bears come out and play!

Its NFL time :). It doesn't hurt that the Mrs. loves football as much as I do.

I am a comming to the conclusion that I should move to the great lakes area....

Any Active duty national guard members out there that can give me a job??

Cutler played pretty well today. Get rid of Lovie, Rod, and Angelo, and they'll improve.

Who calls a timeout, then challenges a play that you won't win?

Thankfully my wife put on some Bears gear and cheered alongside me in the 35 degree weather.

I think the winter ritual of putting the boat away makes boating more fun. If I could boat every weekend of the year, I think I'd take it for granted and probably wouldn't use the boat as much. That's backed up by the Boat US statistics that show northern boaters put more hours on their boats!

Once our boat is tucked away for the winter, we wax up the skis and head to the slopes! Some of us like skiing better than boating, or used to anyway. Now that the kids enjoy it, it's great family time as well. We also hunt and get caught up around the house doing those projects in the garage that you can't do during the summer because it's too stinking hot!! Projects around the house are fun in the winter time too. I guess it's just a matter of what you are used too. If I skied too much or boated too much, I'd get bored and would probably find something else to do!

how hot? Its funny that down in Texas most of the people in my marina wait till about 6pm to come out to their boats and cruise in the evening becuase of the heat. Or maybe it is just to avoid the damn wave runner a holes! I hate those damn things...

its easy just hang around in the club house with the heat on . or go ice fishing eather way it in volves ice cold buds ho knows at the end of the dayof icefishing we might go trolling

I lived in Cleveland for one full year back in the '70s...I knew then that I wasn't cut out for it.

I put up with Hurricanes, Snowbirds, astronomical property taxes, recessions and traffic...to have this year round.

Today's forecast..High 85...Low 70...winds East to SE 5~10 mph...Seas 1-2 Ft. Water temperature 79 degrees. This is mid December folks.

When I have had boats,I go out two weekends a month and at least one week day a month. Predictably you can go out 365 days a year unless of course we are having a Tropical Storm or a Hurricane.

We will pull for maintenance or a storm...otherwise the boats are in the water ready to go.

I have been here 34 of my 57 years. I guess this is where I'm going to be.

A trip to San Francisco and to Florida helps pass our time as does a roaring fire in the fireplace and a good movie. We're currently shopping for a 2010 Audi TT roadster for delivery in April. I'll make any of you a good deal on a 2008 black roadster with all the bells and whistles at delivery time. It will have about 15,000 miles on it and shows as new.

I'm going down to see my gal this weekend. :smt001. Yep, I'll be sleeping on her. :smt038.As in the boat
