Oil pressure gauge on dash for one motor pegged , whenever enigne is on, System monitor does not light up for oil. I am figuring it is a wire or sensor, but was hoping some one could tell me an easy way to figure out which it is
engine is 95 7.4l mercuriser (inboard) on a sea ray 330

Disconnect the wire from the oil pressure sender down on the side of the engine block. Measure the resistance with a known good ohmmeter between the terminal and ground. Readings should be as follows.

If the resistance is OK, you have a bad gauge or wiring. If the resistance is off, a bad sensor.
