I have a 2022 SDX270 i/o. How do I know which is my house battery and How do I know which position(1 or 2) its wired too on the battery switch?
Thank you in advance.

If you have a schematic in any of your manuals that would help. If not, download one on the Sea Ray site...it's a good thing to have.

In the interim you can follow the cables from the battery. The one that has a positive cable connected to the starter is not house.

If you have a single switch there is no house battery, all positions will send power to the starter.

Trying to determine for when we are hanging out on the hook and running the stereo and other accessories. So I still have a fully charged battery to start and run to get back to the slip. I generally switch to battery 2 on the hook, on both when running and off when we leave the boat.

That's the correct method. A 2 bank charger would be nice when you get back

I HAD a deep cycle and a cranking batt, and a spare cranking batt at home. Over winter both cranking batteries took a dump, so I went to Advance near me. I got a Group 27 Diehard deep cycle that has more cca than their cranking batts, really, and with 2 cores I got it for $112. Not bad.

Indeep... look at your batteries... are they both starting batteries? If they're both starting batteries it's a moot point. Or is one a deep cycle? Make the deep cycle your house battery - just need to figure out if it's "#1" or "#2" on the switch. Probably #2 - but with a combination of removing a battery cable and a certain position on the switch and seeing if things still work, you can easily figure it out.

Also, if the switch combines the batteries then all of the batteries need to be the same type. It's not a good idea to combine deep cycle with cranking batteries. It's best to have dual purpose batteries like Gp 27 or Gp 31.
Over the years Sea Ray has vacillated between Port and Starboard on what they call "house". In reality, however, the boat's systems are distributed between both banks, but typically the Helm is on one bank and the cabin on another.
Most of the later boats SR designates the Port bank as the house - Is that 1 or 2 on the switch? I can't answer but easy enough to determine.
At the dock and the boat plugged into shore power and laid up then turn the battery switch off. The batteries will still charge and the boat's emergency systems will still operate.
Single engine and underway switch to Both so the alternator will charge both banks. On the hook and using battery power without charging then separate the batteries.
