How do I know if I have carb or fuel injection?

I just followed PO’s instruction from first time we went out together which I also saw later detailed in manual just as he had said. I did try to start once after on the hook for almost an hour by just turning on key with no throttle and it only cranked- no start. Gave it a quarter throttle (as per manual warm start instructions) and started right up.

I get the carb operation ok - I have a ‘68 383 4 bbl in a barracuda I mess with, and of course we grew up with those on a lot of engines. This a different animal, the design of which, no one here seems directly familiar with. Seems to need the mechanical priming for cold starts but then electronic metering takes over after startup? Kind of a hybrid I guess. Yea one pump for the old car primes it, closes butterfly and electric choke makes it gradually open as she warms up (when it’s working properly…)
