How difficult is it to lift your engine hatch?

If you have an electric hatch opening it might be a good idea to get a portable "jumpstart" unit from WestMarine/Boatersworld etc. If you loose power you can plug it into the cig adapter and open the hatch. I wouldn't be able to open the engine compartment of my 300DA without one of those if I lost battery power and needed it opened.
 
I've been away since I launched this topic. In catching up I think we can summarize that the 280 manual lift is a bear. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

If anyone has a power lift installed (aftermarket) please post some info. On a related topic I will post a question in the electrical forum on how / where one can tie into the wiring system and use the existing hatch switches.
