How can I fill part of the Rub Rail ?

Hi All,
I have a SR 215 Express which has damage to the port side just under the rub rail. I know that I can order a new rub rail which would cost me about £240 for a section but in the meantime I would like to try and fill so that it does not get any worse. Could anyone advise how to best fill please ? I do have photos but they exceed the site size limit,

I think if you become a contributing member (donation), it gives you the ability to post larger pictures (or just make yours smaller). You can also use something like Photobucket.

What's actually damaged? It's not clear from what you wrote. Is it the fiberglass, the vinyl rubrail or the insert (vinyl or SS)? It sounds like you're saying the fiberglass ("under the rubrail") is damaged, but then you mentioned ordering a new rubrail?
