I am a beginner at Great Lakes boating, just this year and We're always looking for Fabulous places to go. people could upload their Pics to the Topic, showing where and when they enjoyed their specific Point of Interest.

Being from Detroit, you have to go to the Islands of Lake Erie.

South Bass, Middle Bass, Kelleys and Pelee are great.

Here is a picutre of Put-In-Bay on South Bass ISland

That's great, we haven't been there yet, but planning a trip to the North Channel next summer, anyone been there Yet?

We did an 18 day trip here this past 2006 summer. Haven't posted any info on it yet (coming soon this winter), but you can check out our 2004 Trip >http://www.timandgina.net/cruise04_logindex.htm for some information.

Tim,
I just checked your link. It is absolutely spectacular. Did you have a professional services do it for you or you’re the professional who can do such a great job?

Alex.

Thanks for the flattering comment... I have done the site myself... just combining two of my favorite interests... boating and websites...

Glad you liked the 2004 Trip. I actually have now started to put up our 2006 trip (I'm only up to Day 7 of 18 as of now) ... you can check it out at:

Island,

We like to stay at Millers Marina when we are there. It's out of the way and the kids can ride their bikes around the area without us fearing too much. Nice to sit by the bar-b-que with a cold adult beverage and look out over the bay also.

Don't have any pictures, but a great place to visit is South Manitou Island. You have to anchor out and dingy in. Once you are there, spend the day hiking around the island. It is interesting and beautiful. Take water and food so you don't get dehydrated and hungry. Watch the weather as you are 17-20 miles offshore in Lake Michigan. East winds can cause problems as can storms. Make sure your anchor is well dug in prior to leaving your boat. We were on the island for several hours one year when a big t-storm blew through. I was hoping to find my 30 we'r where we left it when we made it back to the dingy. Fortunately, all was well. Some people sleep overnight on the hook. If you pay attention to weather trends this can be a good experience. It can also be hellish if the weather changes. :smt001

Fantastic job on your site.

Although we only purchased our boat last August I have had the itch to get up to the north channel for years. My brother-in-law and sister have done that area the past 2 years and he says you could never get tired of the area.

Now if I could only convince the Admiral - she wants another year in local waters under our belt before taking the big trip.
