Hi folks. Wish I had found these forums before now but better late than never right?
As the title states, the hour meter isn't working on our 176. A few years ago it started kind of fading and going in and out, and this season it went completely off.
I'm sure it's still counting, I would just like it to show.
History: boat has been garaged since day 1 and taken very good care of. It's probably only been in the rain twice. The tach still works, but the hour meter is blank in it. In case they are different, the hour meter is in the tach on this boat.
I did check for loose wires and grounds, but I didn't find anything conclusive. And if I'm not mistaken, the hours will show with the key on and the engine off (how I did my testing).
Now, I am getting ready to sell the boat and want the original hours to show so changing the gauge is a last resort. This boat only has about 150 hours on it and that will be its best selling feature.
Any tips/suggestions before I go to the local stealer?
Here's a pic of the gauge package:
