Hello everyone.
Just joined the site and I have a question. I have a 1992 SeaRay 200 with A Mercrruiser 3.0l. I went to give it a complete tune up and added a HotSpark electronic ignition kit to the old girl. New 3.0 Ohm 40,000V Flamethrower coil, new distributor cap/rotor, plugs, and wires. Put it all together and poof, no spark. I followed the ignition kit's instructions to the letter and all of the voltage and resistance checks were within limits. I am not a master mechanic so when I got frustrated, I towed it down to the mechanic to see what's what. Does anyone have any experience with HotSpark or any Ideas what the problem may be? I would have ordered a different ignition kit but, I have that goofey Prestolite distributor that they used briefly and nobody makes anything aftermarket for it. Help!
