Good afternoon. Haven't posted in a few years, but just bought a new to us 2005 Searay Sundeck 240, so back to the Searay family after years with a FourWinns.
This afternoon I replaced my dash panels with new units from FP Marine. I needed to disconnect the trim tab switches from the back for this job. After reinstallation both tabs work, but I noticed, and this could be coincidence, but this is my 4th boat with tabs and never noticed before, but the top of the pump housing is very hot, even when not being run. I removed the plastic cover and the two wire inputs at the top are almost too hot to touch.
Is this normal, or did I land a connection incorrectly on the switches and causing a draw? The pump will start to heat up as soon as I turn on the battery switch and not touching the tabs.
Is there a schematic to ensure I landed everything correctly? I don't want to cause a fire or burn out a perfectly working pump. Thanks in advance for any insight.

those are your solenoids and are not energized unless you activate a trim switch to power the motor ans activate a up or down solenoid
