I was wondering if anyone knows if a honda eu3000is generator is enough to power the ac? If so, what else could this generator power while the ac is on? Dont know if this matters but I have a 96 sea ray sundancer 270.

thanks for the help in advance!

You may want to do a quick search, Before the whole generator debate starts up again.......

wooohooooo - strap in everybody!!!!! BTW the concensus among those that have lived to tell about it is that the 2000 is fine (as long as its bungied to the foredeck)

This should be fun!!!:smt038:grin:

I tested my 270 AC and AC power systems off a 2500 Honda genny......that was the only power I had available at the slip until the shorepower was put in place. The AC will run but not with the stove and hotwater heater on at the same time....too much of a load. No we did not stay in the cabin or overnight with the genny. The genny was 50ft away and this was only a test!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where is the new "Pig On Board" post now.....Mike.

The bigger question do you use synthetic oil on the Harbor Freight Generator?

I guess the BOC boys are bored and looking for some fun?

You have to keep it in the cabin so it doesn't get any water on it. Don't worry about the exhaust fumes. After breathing them for a little while it won't make any difference...

Harder for folks to steal it if it is in there. MM

Yep. Correct. He will only need to worry about the Undertaker stealing it when he comes to get the family's bodies. 'Course, HE won't have to worry about it because he'll be dead. But, his Estate will.

It probably could keep the battery charged on a defibrillator...if anyone were to stay awake to use it.

There is a couple of threads here describing how to mount the generator in the bilge and others explaining how to add a receptacle and fan in there also. Very convenient!

I agree!! One post and it's the generator controversy!! I bet if the admin looks he will find that someone has a daul membership in violation of the bylaws on this forum!!

I read that they're ok to use as long as you put diesel fuel in them.
