homemade weaver mounts

Very nice and look much better than original Weaver Mounts. Are you planning to sell some as well?

Thanks for looking out Scott. I guess I should have kept my question more privetly to avoid any legal complications.

um--noooo, they take too long to make with my available tooling.I'd have to get $500 a set to make it worthwhile. Stainless is a pain in the _ _ _ to pollish. These will go on a swim platform extension I am also making. Pics to follow when Im done.

Scott, I know exactly the case you have in mind. LOL.

Very nice:thumbsup: I like how you concealed the tops of the screws. I hope you measured the thickness of your friends swim deck, the bolts look to short.
Here are some my friend made for me.

These are going on an aluminum swim platform extension I made; 1/4 thick channel ( pictures will follow when I'm done) so the bolts are Ok.

Re: Help Mounting Weaver Snap Davits?

Has anyone had experience mounting Weaver Snap Davits (Quick Connect Plates) to the swim platform of a 340DA???
My dealer advises they must be thru bolted to the swim platform, but I don't see how that's possible with the way the underside of the platform slopes & connects to the hull.
Any Help?:smt014

To your original question,
What year is you 340? I have an 04 and i just did mine through bolted, bolts were either 2" or 2 1/4', the ones that came with the mounts, they were just the right length and I used a 1/2" spacer under my mounts to clear the lip on the back of the platform. Get some large washers though, I'm actually going to fabricate a backing plates for mine. I have a slide on davit system so don't like the idea of all that pressure on a small area near the rear of the platform.
