6 pages on how often to wash a towel? Is this a boating forum or did I somehow get on the goodhousekeeping forum?

Who said anything about "washing" the towels? I thought we were all just throwing them in the laundry room, like the OP's MIL.

Ha ha ha ha ha. I got a box of towels on the doorstep. They are now hanging in my wife's pretty little bathroom.

Awesome.

I can't wait till she gets home today. She was all bitchy about the present I got her so I'm claiming I got these for her instead. Ha ha ha ha

You like to live on the edge my friend.

After his wife see those towels, he is going to need to pick his butt up off the floor and wipe the blood off his face...

Cracks me up! I'll pitch in for the "wing less"(c) version!

What the hell do you guys do when you go out on the boat for a week?

Tow a tender full of clean towels?

I think Gary needs one of these to get rid of his stragglers.

Ok....I only asked about excessive towel use. I don't want to know about Gary's kling-ons.

Just checked back in on this thread....sorry I did.

My Mother in law was just here for the holidays, too. Unfortunately, she drank a case and a half of wine in two weeks! Can't say. I ever changed her towel. I'll consider myself lucky!

That depends, did she drink your wine, or bring enough for everyone?

So my Mother-in-law is here visiting for a few weeks for the Holidays. She is a really nice lady and easy to have here for the time and its great for my wife as we live in the Sacramento area and Mom is in New Orleans. Here is the problem.... When she showers she uses the towel once and throws it in the laundry room.

My question is....how many times do you use a towel before its dirty? We average about a week in our house. One towel a day is a bit excessive I feel as I don't typically do a load of laundry every day. How about the rest of you.

On the plus side that's about the worst I can say about her. Does anyone have any Holiday-related visitor horror stories they care to share?

Happy Holidays to All....
Shawn

YUCK!
We never use a towel twice, my wife would have a fit. When our guests have tried to hang towels up, she replaces their towels and gives them a scolding.

One towel a shower would drive me insane. That's a lot of extra electricity and water that could go towards the boat :) I'm probably not the best advice giver for inlaws. Mine just left yesterday and I couldn't be more relieved. Say I make dinner for everyone and the inlaws don't take their dirty dishes to the kitchen... I think this is rude and disrespectful. I'm not asking they do the dishes although I would in someone elses home who made me dinner. They brought their cat without asking me (although asked my wife) and left cat litter all over the entry way. Oh well, happy wife, happy life.

When my 5 daughters were home they would each use a towel for their hair, one for the body and one to stand on (yes stand on). That's 6 with the admiral. My washer would wear out in 4 years. I could have built my own pond with the water I used and ran a hospital for a year on electricity. Now that the boy is the only one home, the towel will stand in the corner before he changes it out. Mom make sure his towel is changed.

And don't even get me started on Kimberly Clark products.............just back the UPS truck in once a month.:smt009
