Hole in the Water Club

surely SOMEONE has been doing something in the last 2 months
I did a spotlite relocate and finally installed an anchor launcher

I replaced a fuel return line that was rubbing and wore through while on vacation.I rigged it with rubber fuel line to get us home but had already dumped about 30 gallons of deisel before noticing it.It took three hrs to cut out a section and rig it with hose and clamps.Took about 20 mins to take the complete line off once home 10 days to get the new line and 3 hrs to install it.While changing oil last saturday AM my 12v pump decided to blow a hose and sprayed the bilge down with about a quart of old oil so 4 hrs to change oil in one engine what a mess that was.Of course once cleaned up the winds came to ruin the rest of the weekend. When we got home i was taking a leak and heard a noise didnt think anything of it until the tree hit the roof right above me.Two hrs to get it off the roof and still waiting for insurance adjuster so i can cut it up and move it to the wood pile.Five minutes after that i got the call that my little sister had a bycicle accident while on a tour of the UP with her bike club friends, broken back airlift to duluth and still there, not walking yet.

Just the normal.........1 x leg tilt ram leaking, so up onto the slip, and whilst up......service legs, inspect manifolds, antifoul, hull polish, prop speed.....and it was due for a 20 year survey for insurance purposes..
Went fishing, pulled a rod holder, so 4 new rod holders with spreader plates ordered..

Any way several boat dollars spent

Just two impellers, vacuflush seal and clamp, unplug a/c intake of bottom weeds, fix trim tab compression fittings at pump, changed plugs ..... and that is for starters ......

I'll be replacing two batteries this weekend as one of mine has totally crapped out and the other is not far behind.

We had a 6 week lul getting our daughter moved and set-up with college in Florida, empty nester's now with my First Mate deck hand gone.
In between the running around I had already installed a new hailer, 3 new batteries and cables.
8 years on the last battery set with no problems so I can't complain.
We keep having issues with port and starboard nav lights going out from corrosion.
I'm installing all new LED nav lights, a new horn and re-wiring both alternators so they are charging separate systems.
That's the plan for Saturday with a day out on the water Sunday, if all goes well.

Nice - you'll like the windlass.
For us, with often deep water hooking, it's been a god sent gift.

Made another deposit:
Spent 4 hours Saturday replacing a port side starter that was getting loud and slow.
85 degrees and 80% humidity at 9 a.m. :smt119 - thank god I've got the extra room with 6's to squeeze down under there though.
Kept the cell phone within reach just in case an extraction was needed.
Followed that up with an easy replacement of a bad starboard alternator on Sunday before heading out.
Much more at ease with overnight trips on the hook now that the charging and battery system are all new and working properly.

Ok, ok, ok .... I admit it. I have been a closeted HITWC participant all my life. It started with two car hoods welded together to make a canoe and went down hill from there! Oh Neptune, deliver me from this curse! Show me the way to the treasures of the sea so that I might die with at least one Doubloom for my poor mate. (and in the mean time pick up a new Garmin 741xs, a NMEA 2K newwork for it to talk to the two DF175's I just picked up and radar would be nice.) It is my last wish to "do the loop", The TennTom, the upper Mississippi, and to suffer a Viking's funeral (but not on my beloved SeaBiscuit which I have willed to my son who is showing signs of this same genetic weakness). Amen ..., and hand me another beer, this fiberglass dust is gonna kill me! FEDEX is here with new hatches - oh goodie, goodie!

Welcome to the affliction
Seek no cure here... we like it

I am most definitely part of this club.
I have a 1982 Sundancer. The list of parts that I have replaced is to long to type. LOL
But, I do enjoy working on the boat.

I would like to join the "Hole in the Water Club"...

How do I go about doing so?

Thanks!

I look forward to hearing "The Grand Poobah's" response then!
