Holding Tank Float Stuck

Is this the panel you guys are referring to? If so, I don't think mine is working either...have never seen a light come on, on this panel. Oh the Joy!

Yep, that looks like it. When you get her up here, I can supervise the removal of the probes....you get to wear the gloves.

I’ll make sure there are refreshments for the supervisor!

Has anyone tried the external level sensors? You apply foil strips or sensors to the outside of the plastic holding tank and they sense the change in electric fields as the fluid level rises/falls. No moving parts. No contact with the holding tank contents. Minimal power draw. No more cleaning floats!
I haven’t found one that adapts to the original display in the head, but they come with a replacement display. After cleaning the original floats once and having them fail after one season I just ordered the SCAD single tank monitor. You can read about the various brands tested in this 2009 article: https://www.practical-sailor.com/issues/34_2/features/External-Marine-Tank-Sensors_5570-1.html

Anything special about these sensors and level detection system? For my money, I'm thinking I could epoxy 3-4 plastic nuts to the outside of the tank, and install adjustable 12DC capacitive prox switched to make a DIY non-contact tank monitoring system. Capacitive prox switched are commonly used to do this very thing.

I'm guessing the "Empty" is NC and opens when liquid is detected to turn off the empty indication. The 1/2 and FULL/Do Not Flush would be NO versions and close when liquid is detected. Amazon has some cheap versions $ 13-$14 a piece. Could be installed to current system well less than $50. I think system would require the PNP version.
