Hockey player friend of mine busted for heroin.

Three thoughts come to mind:

First: Muslim has nothing to do with it, would you say my friend who happens to be a Baptist, got busted today for being a drug dealer.

Second: If he is guilty of selling he will be held to the law of the land and rightfully so; there is no such thing as easy road in life.

Third: No idea what this has to do with boating.

Give me credit I stayed out of this for several days but just can not believe it is still getting posts. Which I probably did not just help my cause. Oh well there are my thoughts.
1st....I mentioned it for the juxtaposition between his religious beliefs and the fact that he doesnt eat hod dogs or drink beer, but selling heroin seems to be ok...Thats the only reason why.

2nd...agree with you

3rd...once again you amaze me with your failure to understand that this is the holding tank, and is for off topic (which I assume is anything BUT boats) discussions/ideas. I fail to see what cell phones, canada day, a van parked in between posts has to do with boating either, but those seem to be ok because they are "tame"

Love ya Wes, and you do a fantastic job here. Just come on man, "holding tank"...on a boat what is it full of?

It's OK because anything done in the defense of Islam is permissible, no matter how heinous it may otherwise be. So if he's financing jihad, for example, it's not just OK, it's his ticket to paradise because it's for the glory of Allah. You need to read their stuff to understand them. You don't get that from TV or the NYT.

Best regards,
Frank C

Fearmongering. While I will agree that there is a miniscule percentage of a percentage of these religious wackos around the world, I can say the same about every religion there is.

Until I hear cries of outrage from the masses of "good" Muslims, I gotta call it like I see it. They all support those heinous acts.

Muslims need to get around to proving that they are a peace loving group... Or we'll just need to kill 'em all and let allah sort 'em out.

Infidel

Ya'll would have been the first to throw the Japanese into those interment camps during the "good war."

There have been muslims and islamics denounce the very tiny percentage of a segment of radicals that are terrorists. WHy should they go out of their way to explain what is obviously a radical group that has nothing to do with their own views?

Do I see a denouncement from the masses of "good" christians when a radical murders an abortion doctor or blows up an abortion clinic?

Media rhetoric and right wing fear mongering. All muslims and islamics are bad.

I would say that the masses of 'good Christians' form the bulk of the jury that sends the murderer or bomber off to jail (simply because they form the bulk of our population).

I would also say that this discussion of drugs, beliefs, fearmongering, terrorism, etc., is very central to boating. Central in the sense that our joy of boating is one of the first freedoms that could disappear under a more restrictive form of government.

Boating is a luxury. It uses scarce resources. It's something that isn't available to everyone. It can be viewed as elitist. Boaters could very well become targets in a less free and open society. BOATERS WEAR VERY LITTLE CLOTHING (egad).

That's why it's my belief that this discussion of drugs, beliefs, fearmongering, terrorism is very central to boating.

Now I just need to get myself another boat, so I can be a boater once again.

And this is the reason that I say even though it is the holding tank should still have something to do with boating. Boating / Sea Rays should be the thing we all agree on.

I'm pretty sure everyone also agrees that jersey stinks. oh and that Hillary has a big butt.

Ditto:thumbsup:

Wesley I was not going to even post to this thread, but I just had agree with you. Keep up the good work.

What was that old song "D_m the Pusher Man"

"This is where all non-Sea Ray specific posts should go. i.e. Political, Personal, Jokes, etc"

*sigh* There was once a man in a canoe...

COme on dood(s), no one has anything to discuss except boats? DO we not want to get to know each other as a community, share our thoughts, ideas and experiences outside sometimes of boats? Boats boats boats. Awesome. I'd for one like to get to know people who want to get to know me and how they feel about stuff.

We post politics already in the general discussion and how it affects boats. So whats the point of having this part of a forum? Why not police the general discussion section and say no more political threads? I dont want you to, but it sounds the same as what you want down here in the chitter..

As far as Chuck specifically...do ya need to come here and read it? GOes for anyone. If you dont care about the post or wish to discuss it, dont come back to the thread. Man how simple.

SOrry to vent, just dont get it. Its at the bottom of the forum list and called the holding tank.

:smt043 SO is the thread viable now?

I will use a boating reference in every single post I make now.
