My trailer has a pin in the front end of it that you can pull out and the trailer tilts (like a dump truck)

I cant imagine unloading the boat this way, or even loading it.

I have visions the the footage of launching new ships, where the ship slides down the rails into the water :smt038

Can someone explain the theroy of operation of this setup?

Thanks

I remember that type of trailer being a shorelander. If the ramp is shallow or you want to launch the boat off the beach, then break the trailer down and that lowers the rear of the boat to the water as it slides off the trailer. When you want to load, the trailer dips down to the level of the bow eye. Ex. the trailer bunks are still out of the water because of the shallow ramp. then the boat can slide up as the trailer tilts back. I don't know if I explained it properly. I'm surprised to see it under a larger boat like yours. I have one under my small run about boat that I launch from the beach.

Well, the trailer wasnt the origional. I baught the boat from a guy in Lake Alatoona Ga. When I got it, in the paper work was a wanted ad for a trailer. In my opinion the trailer is a little light for the boat. I plan to go through it in Sept with several upgrades. heavier axles, bigger tires, brakes etc.

Thats kind of what I expected the trailer to do, I guess I forgot that the trailer is for smaller boats
