high water bilge pump for cabin in 280DA

Hi. Can anybody owns 280DA tell me where the high water bilge pump for cabin is located? back of the sump box or a secret place under the cabin carpet ?

The "high water" bilge pump is down in the engine compartment. You should have two down there, one that is on the "floor" of the bilge, and one that is monted to a little ledge just above it. It the second pump on the ledge will only activate when the water gets really high in an emergency. Also, there should be a bilge pump in the sump under the steps down into the cabin. It is in a plastic box a that collects water from the shower/bathroom and the a/c condenser line if you have a/c.

Thanks for your explanation but the spec sheet of sea ray confused me. It says "bilge pump 12v automatic, bilge pumps 12v automatic high water (1 bilge - 1 cabin). Also I know bilge pump in the sump box.

I believe what they are referring to is that one in the sump box, I don't think there are any other pumps in the cabin anywhere.

In MY 260 there is one in the Sump box as well as one right outside the sump box

Melida,

You may have to find someone local to you who can answer this question. Your boat has been built to EU requirements, and US Boats are built to US Coast Guard. I know the earlier (like my 02) 280's built for Export to EU are supposed to have a manual bilge pump in addition to the electric. The manual pump is not required on US boats.

If there is a cabin bilge pump it would be located under the entry way step near the sump box as that is the lowest point in the 280 cabin.

As you mentioned my boat is 315 European equivalent of your's 280. Also I have the manual bilge pump discharged from the aft port side, also tomorrow I'll check that is there any pump around the sump and also the secret storage compartment in the mid cabin.
