I've started the process of replacing the cabin head liner, hull liner and vinyl wall coverings and have had to slit the old coverings to get at the screws hidden behind. Does anyone know what magic is involved to reattach the panels in the same fashion?

Thanks,
Dave

The ones I've dealt with have simply had the vinyl (for example) tucked into the seam between two panels where the screws are. The rest of the way around, the vinyl is is stapled to the back side, but when it comes to where the screws are, it is loose and then tucked in.

Very carefully.

My head liner was sagging and one screw had come loose..... I cut the material got a slightly larger size screw and used a grommet found at the local hardware store to reinstall. I 1st went slightly longer and ended up putting a hole to the outside through the gel coat. Not my finest moment in boat maintenance.

One of my winter projects is to replace my headliner in the V-berth and galley/dinette area. I too assume you have to find the screws behind the material
