  1. Im a new dealer for Hi-Tek products of Australia. We manufacture 56 different makes and models of boat Manifolds. We also have hard to find Manifolds.Hi-Tek has the best Warranty on the market. 5 year Warranty.Enough about that. I live on the Oregon Coast.I can see the Pacific from my house.Im a 5 min drive from 3 different boat launchs. We fish for bottom fish lingcod, seabass, greenling, salmon etc......When the ocean is rough and we cant get out. We fish the bay for crab, fish, clams.bait shrimp, bait tube worms etc...... My boat is a 19ft Sierra Cuddy Classic. Powered by a 4.3 O.M.C. Also Oregon has sweet sand dunes. I ride a 250r motorcycle with a paddle tire. Thanks for having us. When i Quote a Manifold for a Club Sea Ray member the cost will be below manufacture retail. For more info call 541-297-8050

Do you have some "for examples" you could list and a ballpark price range, e.g

Mercruiser 8.1 horizons, typically $1,000.00 -$1,500.00 for a manifold per engine

    Thanks

How about a link to the manufacturer, application pictures, and testimonials.....I don't understand why it is a good idea to fasten a piece of stainless steel to cylinder head in a marine application....maybe I don't get the picture.

  6. I dont have a listing for 8.1. I will get you a price today if we manufacture that manifold.Everyone In Australia are sleeping right now.Its 1:40am there.Stainless Steel Manifolds cost a little more than cast iron. But the return for the money is big.1st You will not have to worry about manifold blockage(when cast iron starts to rust it flakes off inside the manifold interfearing with water flow)2nd The biggest cause of motor failure is do to cast iron manifold failure.Cast iron with the risers and all the extra plumbing is not built to last. Sorry out to cast iron dealers.3rd Stainless Steel one piece Manifolds means the riser and the manifold are one.4th Stainless steel is 75% lighter, and your boat will gain hp because the smooth flow of water and exhaust.

  9. Ok you wanted to know how much an 8.1 Stainless Steel one piece Manifold set Cost. The price depends on whitch model .Some have more stuff mounted on the manifolds there for some have more factory mounts to weld in place. The 8.1 Stainless Steel one piece manifolds cost $2550.00 Dont forget to tell them your a Club Sea Ray member. The riser is part of the manifold. The factory response will be slow until late monday because they are at a boat show this weekend .We have both 8.1 manifolds in stock.

A little more than $1,000 over the standard parts.

  11. Stainless Steel One Piece manifolds are more costly in the begining. The #1 reason for motor failure is cast iron manifold failure. Cast iron 1 year warranty ,higher quality cast iron 3 year warranty ,Stainless Steel Manifolds 5 year Warranty. My old cast iron manifolds leaked water into my motor and cost alot of money to repair. What kind of boat do you have?

Like it says in the picture. 1999 330DA. She has twin 7.4 MPI 310 HP engines. There are two different 7.4 cylinder heads. The high performance heads have huge rectangular intake ports while the standard performance 7.4 has smaller oval ones. I don't know if the exhaust ports are different, but I have the standard performance heads. I don't think I need manifolds, 3" risers, and elbows yet. They are only 4 years old. I'm going to borescope them when I get the boat in the water. If they're bad, I might entertain the idea of switching.

CMI manifolds sometimes have a problem with cracks. What about these? I don't want the boat to be down for months while they ship parts to Australia to inspect them for defects and then fix or replace them if it's a warranted repair. Which reminds me, what does the warranty cover and exclude?

    Best regards,
    Frank

I know the manifold for mind from Mercruiser are around $1,032.00 each and the risers are around $561.00 each. My understanding is that the Mercruiser manifolds and risers are ceramic coated on the inside and that their elbows are stainless steel.

From looking at this link it looks like a manifold set on the inside and the outside is a stainless steel cover over it by the diagram graphic, or is that an all stainless steel manifold/riser.

My engines have the ones which have all of the little bells and whistles attached, by this I am referring to the additional hoses which connect to them.

I know last year just the parts alone for each engine was just over $2,900.00, this included hoses, new bolts, clamps, etc.

I would not be against replacing with stainless steel for the next time they are replaced. I have heard though that one trick to prolong the manifolds is to replace the gasket sets each year.

  14. You are a smart man for inspecting your manifolds. You could save yourself a lot of money. If the borescope dosent work there is always the koolaid test its pretty kool. I sell 5 different 7.4 Stainless Steel Manifolds .Club Sea Ray Price $2550.00 a set. Its nice to have a good pic of your motors to be sure to get all the factory mounts in place. Hi-tek starts with the best material money can buy, Stainless Steel inside and out.C.M.I.manifolds are not factory replacements.Hi-tek manifolds are for every day use.

  15. Your 8.1 manifold sounds like the 496 mercruiser.Club Sea Ray price $2550.00 a set . You supply the hoses bolts and clamps.Stainless inside and out . You should use a quality gasket between manifold and motor. Buy using Stainless Steel Manifolds Your already fast boat would be a little faster. Oh yea Sweet Boat .

Mercruiser USED to market a stainless steel manifold. They no longer do. Cynics say they stopped making them b/c they lasted too long and they wanted to sell more parts. Mechanics say that due to the different coefficients of thermal expansion, leaks developed btwn the block and the mannys.

I have also anecdotally heard of "fit" issues with other aftermarket manifolds (cast iron) such as Osco and Barr.

Not sure if it's possible to recoup the extra expense over the period of time that an individualowns a boat. For you raw water cooled folks, installing a fresh water flush system is a whole lot cheaper.

You can't flush cast iron well enough because it's porous. Salt and contaminents sit in the pores of the iron and cause corrosion. Ceramic coating is OK, but since the coating expands at a different rate than cast iron, it cracks, allowing salt to enter the crack... causing corrosion.

Stainless has tiny pores, so salt wouldn't enter the metal's matrix allowing flushing to actually do some good. These might be good if they are built right, with the right warranty and the right support from the factory.

I know that CMIs are good for more than 10 years. That's two to three sets of exhaust manifolds, elbows and risers.

    Best regards,
    Frank

I have 2002 350 MAG Horizons, how much would a set of manifolds run?

Also from the website it seems the manifolds have zincs, how much are they?

  19. The 5.7 Stainless Steel one piece Manifold 3" or 4" center riser.Club Sea Ray Price $1900.00 a set.The Zincs com with the Manifold.Hi-Tek Stainless Steel Manifolds are built to bolt up to your motor. With all the mounts built into the manifold for an easy install.Stainless Manifolds still need to be flushed out after use. The easy flow of water through the stainless Manifold makes it a snap to flush out the salt water. Say( Good bye) to cast iron.
