We were down to Ft. Myers Beach two weekends ago. Had a great time. Interesting area (Times Square) that is. Stayed at the Matanzas Inn and Marina.
 
Thanks Chuck. It can be VERY interesting on a holiday. I've posted a thread in General Discussion regarding a classic Sea Ray I'm probably going to accept as a project. I'll be sure to post that info if I do. Thanks again!
 
welcome. i will be down in your neck of the woods (marco island) in october for a wedding. generally in ft. myers at least once a year.
 
Welcome aboard.

By now you should know that boating sucks here. You have no excuse for not going every weekend and holiday. You have the upcoming labor day ordeal and then the octoberfest and next you have Thanksgiving and Christmas boat parades capped off by the new years eve fireworks.

Then with the cool winter nights there is sleeping on the hook listening to football games and college hoops. Then in March the relatives come to visit and you have to drive them around everywhere and before you know it there are the holidays and the 4th fireworks and all night parties. And before you know it you get to do it all over again. There is never a break!!!!!

Oh, and don't forget that you have to constantly clean the boat. You need to polish and wax at least 4 times each year. The work is never done. LOL

Thanks Fishnut! Boating in SW FL is a real pain. :toungeincheek: I've been on the water here for about 20 years so I'm quite familiar with how things can be. Remember when we used to have the regatta at Ft. Myers Beach? What a freak show that used to be!

BTW. if you're waxing 4 times a year you've never heard of Rejex or Zaino - look into them. Be safe!

That's why I keep my boat in FL for the winter. I don't have to winterize it and get to use it whenever I come down. $99 dollar flights and I'm on the boat for a weekend. I luv this sucky place:thumbsup:
