My name is Jeff and I live in TN not too far from one of the Sea Ray plants. I just purchased my first boat. It is a 1982 22' cuddie. It is a "fixer upper". I will be hoping to learn as much as possible here to avoid dreaded pitfalls and mistakes! And if I do happen to ask a stupid question or two along the way, try to overlook it!

Jeff,
Welcome to Club Sea Ray and good luck with your first boat. I remember several years ago how excited I was to get my first one.

Scott,
What are you doing in China?? Scoping out the boating areas?

Thank you Scott and Bill! As soon as I can get it home and squared away I'll post pictures and try to update them as I go along. It may be a long shot, but mid to late spring is when I hoping to have it completed! For now though it sounds like I need to go figure out how to set up my signature....

Go to the “UserCP” tab on top menu, the under “Settings and Options” select “Edit Signature”. BTW there is also a lot of other info you can provide here including pictures.

Good Luck,

I had a 48 hour layover here. Actually it's not too bad, no boats around, but the local folks are pretty nice. The women folk dress very well compared to back home, so the eye candy is a benefit. (Hope the wife isn't reading this)

I have a seven day layover in Almaty, Kazakhstan next month, which I am not looking forward to at all. Maybe I can sell a Sea Ray to the Russian Mafia while I am there though.

maybe you could attend this event, hahahah:smt043. sorry just had to, good luck and be safe!!!

Welcome aboard. Lots of good information on the board, and some occasional attempts at wit and irony, with mixed results. Let me be the first to honor you with a welcome via Guangzhou, China. (At least I think this is a first. If any other CSR members have posted from China, let me know and I will retract the claim.)

Don't they have people over there in China monitoring the Internet to make sure you don't do anything wrong? You better be careful you don't post again on CSR about your plans to do that horrible thing over there you said you were going to do.... They may find you and arrest you... And what you said you were going to do would put you in prison for life over there.... sure hope they don't find out...

You guys are funny! It is true... behave in China... or else!!!! LOL! Well, here is my new signature. Picture to come as soon as I can. I believe my boat to be a SRV225 SXL. I based that on the pictures in sales brochure that I downloaded from SeaRay.com. I hope I am right on that, else I am sure to be flamed to know end for getting it wrong! Speaking of indentification.... Is there anymore information to be obtained from the serial number portion of the HIN other than date of manufacture, company and plant? I ain't having much luck finding info on that! Anyways, here is the signature!

Yes it does... Pretty much identical from what I can tell. The round windows in the bow seem unique to that model. Of course, that is based on my limited knowledge and could be 100% wrong. Are there two hatch covers in the bow of your old one? One for the cuddy and one for the anchor? It is beautifull and sure hope I can get mine back to that slick appearance!
