Hey Isn't Vermont in the Northeast?

Ver...Mont... translates to Green Mountain...
Isn't that a tea, or perhaps a coffee.... :smt101

Vermont is a state not a beverage

OK you wise guys........I just didnt want to be short changed in the Northeast listing information. Lake Champlain (located in Vermont/New York) is accessable to the south by the Hudson river to New York Harbor and to the North thru the Saint Lawerance seaway to Canada.
Just thought if we listed it you guys might consider a trip north....

There is a guy on the board, "All That Jazz" who has made the great excursion up there. I don't remember if he linked his home page to his profile but he has the pictures of his trip on it. Meet him and his lovely wife a couple of years back in PCB.

Trip North

I have not made the trip south yet, I was planning on it last year and with the gas prices I decided to wait a year or so. My brother is out of Naraganset Bay in RI and we were planning on hooking up on Block Island. It was going to be quite the adventure.
This year we are heading north to Quebec City with four other boats. The trip is planned for the first two weeks in July, we are looking forward to it.

We made the trip up to Champ 3 times, most recently 4 years ago and went up near Rousses point. We started in Kingston NY on the Hudson River, went thru all the Champlain Canal locks into the lake. We did the entire trip over a 12 day period. That is Gods country up there. Just breathtaking scenery with great towns and villages. Some highlights were Westport, Otter Creek, Burlington, Valcore Island, St Albans etc.... Too much to list.

Never did see Champ the lake monster though...

Well, there goes the neighborhood!

We are planning on spending the 4th of July week at Burton this year. We did the weekend last year and had a great time even though we dock less than a mile away.

I'm planning my first "big" trip on the new boat from Greene County on the Hudson up to the lake this summer. I've digested almost every word of the cruising guide, but local knowledge is always best. Would love thoughts on best marinas to overnight at, must-see spots (drop the hook here and spend the day ideas) and great, on the water eats. Also my first time locking through :smt009
