What are your feelings on this guy? This guy may be the one we need to go against Obama! I like everything he is saying but I hope he can gain some traction now that Chris Christy is endorsing Romney... (I would have liked to see Christy run!)

The 9 9 9 will cost the average person $$$$. He seems like a common sense good guy but the House & Senate will block all his good-will fixes not to mention 9 9 9 which they say will never pass either house. If you tax the welfare folks....they will demand more cash to live because they now are paying taxes! I think the whole system needs turned upside down. State and Federal jobs should be low pay with no benefits. If you're not employed, you should have to work for them instead of sitting at home and getting a check for doing nothing. If you don't like working for the man.....go find a better job with benefits. The Conservation Corps and CC Camps put people to work....do it again. With todays system.....work for the man 20 years and relax for life. I don't buy the fact you have to pay big bucks to get good state/Federal workers. The ones I know are not that good and using the system to begin with....check out your local DMV employees, Mike.

Hello??? No other feedback??? You people must have started your Winter hibernation....

I have to admit that I vote for the candidate with the strongest 2nd ammendment beliefs....not sure where Herman stands on that yet. Boats and all types of firearms are my passion. Both are big investments for my leisure time and will not be taken away by any politician. I know Romney is not my choice....here's a good website....http://www.livefreeordiealliance.org/?gclid=COzT-5aj6KsCFcx-5QoduBBcIA Newt Gingrich is a good guy but pretty mainstream to our current problems. Santorum is also a good guy but no money or big message yet. Bachman is just not as good as Sarah Palin who I still really like.....she even came to our town to see 15,000 of us. Biden had 400 show up the same day....what a loser. We need to get our borders under control even if it means pulling some resources from baby sitting other countries at our cost, Mike.

I am just trying to get a feel for this guy, your right I think about Romney but I am just affraid that he will be the nomanee for the Republican ticket...

Romney is a wolf in sheeps clothing IMHO but better than Obummer. Mass is not my favorite state to begin with. Tons of gun control that does not work and only those connected to the system get real 2nd Amend rights, Mike.

I'm now leaning towards Newt! Cain is just not working for me these days. Newt does have the correct answers, Mike.

I think your right, Cain was very interesting early on but he shot hinself in the foot a few times.... Newt is the way I am leaning now too!

Newt?

The one guy who makes Romney sound sincere!

It's a sad time for America right now.

I agree Newt is part of the problem but the choices suck right now. All I want now is someone that can beat Obummer. If he gets another 4 years, a war will break out in this country. He's ready to try a gun grab through the UN and the bullets will start to fly I believe. His one big mistake was getting caught sending guns to Mexico. I know the owner of Lone Wolf Guns and he's a stand up guy.....the Feds were the problem in AZ, Mike.

Is there really any good solution? Your agurments are somewhat flawed.....the problems we have did not start with Obama, they started in the Bush admin, with deregulation of everything. Secondly the NRA has everyone believing that the dems will take away your guns....they have been saying that since their inception in 1971, and yet we all still have our guns. Obama actually signed 2 PRO gun bills....and yes sending guns to Mexico was a bad idea....sort a like Bush said there were WMD in Iraq.....and 3000 Americans got killed.

As for fairness....why do the Republicans think its okay for GE to pay more taxes than you? Or Oil companies the make Billions get a subsidies? They also think that you can cut your way to a balance budget and bring down the debt, without raising taxes on GE and alike. I'd like to see that!!

Here in Michigan they voted in a Republican Govenor and so far he has taxed retirees, taken money from schools to the toon of $1.5 Billion......and what did he do with it? Gave it to business, by reducing their tax burden.....Nice.

There is grid lock in Washington and it seems there is more politics than ever. Hell both sides agree that its okay for them (Congress & Senate) to have insider trading while you and I can't.

I'll make a bold prediction....If Obama wins, we'll stay the same, if a Republican wins we'll stay the same. Like I said there is no good choice.

Corporations are incapable of paying taxes. The taxes they send in either belong to the purchasers who paid too much, the shareholders who got too little, or employess who were paid less, that money belongs to someone, corporations are just a conduit and a tax collector for the government.

I love that "Gave it to business" like it was theirs in the first place and only through benevolence does the business have something. The unions have bankrupted the state and local governments, while businesses flee as fast as they can. Think things might need to be rebalanced? MM

Who was it that said that cooperations are people too?

I don't get where you are going, but corporations are made up of people, you remember, the shareholders who got too little, that do not give up their rights because they are members of a corporation and can exercise them through the corporation. MM

I can't disagree more with the NRA saving gun rights Sea Ray 215....We would have been disarmed like Australia and England years ago if the Dems had a chance. We have a bunch of sheeple in this country that rely on "the police". 30 minute response time where I live. The problem is solved way before they get there. We are a very rural country compaired to Europe. Firearms are tools the city folk think we don't need to survive.....they have the Po Po....yea right. The police have no responsibility to protect you....a little known fact and I work with LE weekly, Mike.

Corperations have significant rights, and those rights are constitutionally protected through use of the 14th amendment.

In legal terms, a corperation is therefore considered much like a "person". This legal fiat is important for many things like "property rights" and whatnot.

If I was to sign a contract with a person to build something or do something, I would expect that person to pay taxes based upon income and expenses. Since a corperation is legally an "artificial person", a corperation should logically be handled the same way as a person tax wise. One could argue if corperate tax rates should be different than personal tax rates in this case. That is a seperate question.

Do you not agree the taxes are paid by the owners of the coproration? MM

Owners of the corperation only pay taxes if the owners are paid dividends.
No different than if I pay YOU a dividend.

If I personally gave you $100,000; that would also be taxable income.
Now; granted, there are nuances. Exclusion levels are different. (Is it $0 for dividends, $12,500 for "gifts"?). The tax rates are different.

The fairness and appropriateness of those differences can be debated in good faith.

I think "PEOPLE" should pay taxes on what they earn or gain ONE time. The current system taxes it several times leading to the loop holes we both deplore. Money, including profit, held by the coropration is not money realised by "people" yet.

I think the #1 thing that would change taxes in this country would be the elimination of witholding, everybody has to send a payment to the government. MM

I don't actually disagree. . . .which is why I am not in favor of any sort of Value Added tax. (one of the three 9's in Cain's 9-9-9 plan).

A key problem right now is the total disconnect we have between "revenue" and "spending". This is how the Republican party can advocate consistently promote cutting revenue while increasing spending. All these things like "eliminating estate taxes"; "eliminating corperate taxes"; "middle class tax cuts", "establish a flat tax" are all fine and dandy until you pair it with "increased defense spending", and "perscription drug benefits" along with "no medicare cuts", and "maintaining social security".

And all this leads to the farce over the debt limit this summer.

So, until the spending side is addressed; I am not a fan most tax cut proposals.

Has anyone noticed that the Republican Congress has not actually passed a 2012 budget yet? That is how you reduce spending. Pass a budget that actually reduces spending.
One could note that they have a larger majority in Congress than the Democrats had when they failed to pass a 2011 budget.

The Democrats are similarly guilty of false accounting and poor governing practices.
