Here is an Idea, Possible resolution to reduce the gun violence....

Criminals don’t follow laws. I get that. It’s pretty simple lol. And yea we’re not going to put a ban on cars. You just think one way and don’t think clearly because you are so pro guns.

Anyway, no since in arguing. You’re right!

I still tend to care for my folks down south because I am half American and have relatives in West Virginia.

Please show me in the constitution where there is the right to take arms from other people?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Every gun owner should be a member of a well regulated militia.

Or maybe folks should brush up on their English composition, particularly historical English composition. You probably don’t even know what regulated means in the sense of the clause you wrote.

Agree. Militia being a non-standing Army ready to take up arms and fight to defend our country, family, and ourselves on a moments notice (like in Ukraine right now). The reason our courageous, genius Founding Fathers made the VERY clear, VERY succinct final portion of that statement was to prevent us from taking the route suggested by LittleDucky. Individual gun ownership is the only reason our country is as civil as it is. A “government” knowing who has what type of gun and then “allowing” only certain people to own them is completely opposing to the intent of the amendment and exactly what the FF’s meant to stop.
The attached article mentions some instances where we were able to secure our freedoms.
If our rights under the second amendment are infringed any further than they already are, we could end up losing the battle to civil unrest and general lawlessness in our country. I’m not talking about Red Dawn crap, I’m talking about the very real, very “already happened recently” Antifa crap and the daily instances of this stuff we never hear about.
For those of you who do not believe in the “Big Bad Wolf” or the Boogeyman, you better start reading the back page and not just headlines. Yes. Bad things can happen to any of us by bad people. Take some personal responsibility and learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Even back then, unrealistic Meat-Heads were pushing a false dream that a simple sentence inscribed on a piece of paper locked away in a state legislative office would keep cop-killers and home invaders from packing a gun. How ridiculous and idiotic they would actually believe that.
Let’s discuss the “success” we as a nation have had in banning drugs, prostitution, shoplifting, auto theft, underage drinking, domestic violence, drunk driving, illegal immigration, and on and on.
Since millions of guns are made overseas, how in the hell do these unrealistic fools think we will stop their illegal smuggling into the country where gangsters will become filthy rich-er off selling guns and ammo to poor, inner city kids who are part of street gangs looking for guns. Those poor, inner city kids will then be caught or killed by cops in the new “war on guns” and now we have a entirely new generation rotting in prisons just like our “war on drugs” did.

This “make a law” crap must be dismissed.

Continuing my presentation from Post 66.

I live in an area where four juvenile convicted convicts just escaped from a facility in New Orleans.

Two of the four are from towns not far from my home. The crimes?
Burglary, Carjacking, Illegal Possession of a Handgun, Aggravated Battery, Robbery, among a long list of other crimes.
To those of you who think you don’t need the ability to defend yourself and your family, do you really think I am getting a police officer posted at my door until these psychopaths are caught?
What happens when I leave for work and my wife is home?
This very real situation is just another example that is never presented when someone asks, “Why do I need a gun in my home?”
The “gated-community private security” gang sure love to lecture me on how I am putting society at risk for having a firearm in my home.

I don’t understand something in this new gun laws bill so I’d like to ask other owners to help me out. How is giving more funding to mental health programs going to help with gun violence? Granted they do need the funds and I’m all for it but how do you tie it together?

Mental heath needs to be part of the background check and not just a question on a piece of paper!

Y'all missed it -
It comes down to three things: Parents and the nuclear family, the 401K, and law.

First - Parents should be held culpable and face charges for all crimes committed by minors. This would make headway to get the little pricks in line or get the help they need.

Second - If you don't like what is being broadcast to the public in mass media, games, social media etc don't invest and support it. If enough said Time Warner Media is not in our best interest and pulled their investment, things would change. Conversely, if you don't want live firearms in public hands don't invest in ammunition manufacturers. It's a powerful tool to support your choice. Once a year I sit with my portfolio managers and we discuss direction including culling things that I believe not in this nation's best interest which, by the way currently includes Disney/Time Warner.... But those are my choices.

Lastly, the criminal element - if not firearms it would be swords and bats and knives but still illegal. The above will help reduce the criminal element but aggressive law enforcement and hard labor prison / capital punishment will help quell.

Up until the 80's the Fed were into Mental institutions now these places were not the most happy place to be but they did help with dealing with people that were dangerous to themselves and the public. This was the price to help keep the extremely ill out of the main stream. Now all these institutions are gone and nut jobs like in Texas have the World Wide Web to motivate there illness. Until our DC. start deal with the real cause of violence the people behind the gun this will continue.

Well, at least Canada is a “free country” with every person able to exercise the right of self protection, so women can blow spitballs through a straw at their assailants since the gubmint is also trying to taking guns from good people.
Or…maybe a bad-ass trucker will stop and render aid, except they are all locked up because they didn’t want a forced injection of some experimental bug-juice.
I wonder if the Canadian liquor industry had any input on this decision. I can see a whole lot of drink in’ coming.
Never been to Canada. Always wanted to visit, but it is getting further down my list of places to see.

Question...they are no longer allowed to show Elmer Fudd cartoons because he has a gun. What about these video games? Guess those guns are exempt? Not blaming it on video games but seems they are picking and choosing what to blame it on and what to remove

Frankly all this "anit-gun" talk simply drives the market for guns. My local dealer/range is packed all the time. Even the other afternoon at Cabela's there where several people look/purchasing guns that that the wait to look at a scope was forever. It's crazy time.

Everyone of these spree-killers is whacked out crazy. No question about that. As far as the street kids killing each other over disputes, those kids just have no regard for human life. That is a lack of moral standards which would have been impressed by parents and the Church.
Since apparently none of our government officials seem to care about the daily slaughter in our cities, there is no push to bring the family back and get them back in Church learning the fundamentals of Christianity and other similar faiths which value all human life, even one’s who sin.

Mental health will help reduce spree-killers, I believe.
If you have ever tried to get a kid into mental health treatment, then you would know the juvenile mental health system in the US is a disaster. I have had the misfortune of having to deal with this as a parent. Dysfunctional, overloaded, low paid, too few facilities.
No access to MD Child Psychiatrists. Very very few PhD Child Psychologists. The few LCSW’s certified and focused on kids are overwhelmed and underpaid. There is no money to be made so too few are drawn to it.
If some of the mental health proposal funding was to provide financial incentives for medical professionals to enter the field, then I would support that.

Why is no one asking how this kid in Texas had two top tier Daniel Defense rifles? That's like top shelf, 100 year old bourbon...
