Hey guys I am purchasing a 1996 370 Sundancer and the port engine is in need of being replaced. I need to take the boat to the marina from the location it is currently at (about 15 miles). I am wanting to know if I can run it on a single engine 5-6mph to get it to the marina. Does the '96 370 have the cross over water feed or would I need to remove the prop to keep from causing damage to the shaft of the non running engine. Any help on locating this feed line or if it come with it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

At that speed I don't think you'll create enough friction to heat anything up.

Just want to make sure I don't heat anything up and damage it. I would really like to know for sure if it has or the best way to disable the prop from spinning

There is a 3/8" hose running from a nipple on the elbow at the bottom of the manifold to the Seal inlet on each engine. There is no factory crossover, but it wouldn't be real hard to rig one up, especially temporarily. just cut the small line and put a tee fitting into each, and then run a line between the 2.
Alternatively, get a big set of locking pliers, and lock it on the shaft where it will rest against the hull or something else strong.
I have idled 10 miles or so a few times over 20 years battling vapor lock, and other fun things. The joke used to be if we came home on 2 engines, we went out and bought lottery tickets. No damage to the shaft or the seal.

If you are a member of Tow Boat or Sea Tow, they will tow you for free. Pretty difficult docking on one engine. It would be much safer.

I've seen Tow Boat US dock a few boats under tow (into a slip). I'd take my chances with a single engine and a few friends waiting at the dock... :)

I guess it varies where you are. I have seen our Tow Boat guys bring 90 footers in our small channel marina with 30 mph winds, and put them in a slip.

PSS seals cannot be without water due to their face seal design, Tides can for a bit but that plastic bearing in the seal assembly will suffer. 15 miles is quite extensive to be without cooling.
Mar the shaft with locking plyers? That must have been a bit of humor....
SOP is to dog off the shaft with rope or strap wrench at the coupler.
Plan for future and install a seal cooling cross-over system.
