Hello all I am new to this forum. I just recently purchased a 2000 240 Sundeck with a Mercruiser 5.8 L 357 MAG Bravo 4v and I love it. There are only two issues that I'm having with it and I'm hoping someone here can help me.

1) If I push the throttle slowly it'll go all the way up to Max RPM and do 45 miles an hour and sounds like a race car, but if I go from 2000 rpm to full throttle it bogs down begins to make a clicking noise and then I have to pull back on the throttle cuz I feel like it's going to die or hurt the engine. But right after doing that if I use a slow throttle again it'll go right up the full speed.

2) When in idle and barely put it in gear it tends to die so maneuvering is a bit difficult when docking. If I put it in gear and give a little more throttle it's fine. But that's pretty difficult around the dock.

If I get these two issues fixed I'll have the perfect boat I really hope it's a simple fix and that someone can tell me what they think is going on. Thanks in advance for all your help and have a great day!
