I am excited to potentially join the club with my first sea ray and am looking at a 2000 5.7 240 with 820 hours on the engine. I had a local boat shop take a look at it and would love any input on what you think of their review of the boat and if you think it's worth the asking price or any other insight some of you searay and boosting veterans can provide. Thanks in advance to any help you can provide. IMG_4781.PNG

I would personally have a certified marine survey done. Nothing against the shop you used, but they seem to be reporting the obvious. A true survey with check hull for moisture, stringer issues etc. Engine compression looks good.

Thanks Bahamasbreisus , I have that set up to be done as well. Just wasn't sure if the anodes were a sign of major work to not even make he survey worth it.

Anodes are designed to wear. Normal

Thanks again for feedback. Good example of my novice status in boat ownership. I would be moving it from mooring in fresh water to salt in the Puget sound. Should that make me look at any other things from the survey or do anything to help with that transiiton. Again I know this is probably a very elementary question and appreciate any help.

are the compression readings inaccurate too high, for a 840 hr engine? My readings were 140-150 and that was normal with 1027 hrs.
